All-on-4 vs All-on-6 in Vietnam: How to Compare Your Options

Comparing All-on-4 vs All-on-6 in Vietnam starts with a simple difference: four or six implants support a full arch of replacement teeth. The more useful question is why a particular arrangement is appropriate for your mouth. Six implants are not automatically the better choice, and four should not be selected only because the initial price is lower.

This guide explains what to compare before discussing a full-arch plan with Dr. Chuyen’s team at Alisa Dental in Hanoi. It focuses on the proposed restoration, the costs and the practical questions that matter to patients living in Vietnam or travelling from overseas.

What is the difference between All-on-4 and All-on-6?

Both terms describe a full arch supported by implants. An arch means the upper or lower set of teeth; treatment for both arches needs a separate assessment and quotation for each.

In the conventional All-on-4 concept, two front implants and two angled rear implants support the arch. All-on-6 describes a restoration supported by six implants, with positions determined by the treatment plan. The number does not tell you the material of the final teeth or whether temporary teeth are included.

Question All-on-4 All-on-6
How many implants per arch? Four Six
Are the final teeth included in the name? No; confirm material and price No; confirm material and price
Does the name guarantee same-day teeth? No No
What should explain the choice? An individual examination and the planned restoration

For an introduction to the four-implant approach, see our All-on-4 dental implants in Hanoi page.

Why implant number is only part of the decision

The International Team for Implantology recommends planning the final restoration alongside the surgery. Relevant factors include bone anatomy, implant distribution, the opposing teeth, restoration material and access for cleaning. It also stresses considering preservation of remaining teeth. These recommendations support an individual plan rather than a rule that every patient needs the same number of implants. See the ITI consensus on full-arch implant number.

Ask your dentist to show the proposed implant positions and explain what the additional two implants would achieve in your case. Also ask whether there are teeth worth retaining. A useful answer should relate to your examination, not simply describe one package as premium.

Compare the temporary and final restorations

Request the material and design of both stages in writing. Two quotations with the same implant number may describe different restorations, so the headline price may not be a fair comparison.

Discuss how you will review the appearance of the teeth and which appointments are needed for fitting and checks. Ask for a demonstration of how you would clean the proposed restoration. These details help translate a technical plan into something you can evaluate in everyday terms.

Does either option guarantee teeth in one day?

No. Nobel Biocare’s explanation of the All-on-4 concept makes immediate provisional teeth conditional on patient suitability and adequate implant stability. Provisional teeth are a treatment stage, not confirmation that the final restoration is complete. See the manufacturer’s explanation.

For either plan, ask what happens if early fixed teeth are unsuitable. Your written schedule should identify the alternative, the review arrangements and the expected final-restoration stage. Our guide to implant treatment visits in Vietnam explains how to discuss this before booking travel.

How the costs are calculated at Alisa Dental

Under the clinic’s pricing confirmed on 15 October 2026, the calculation for one arch is four or six times the selected implant price in USD, including abutments. Temporary full-arch teeth add VND 5–10 million, and final ceramic full-arch teeth add VND 30–60 million.

Using the confirmed Dentium promotional rate of USD 430 as an example:

  • All-on-4 implant subtotal: 4 × USD 430 = USD 1,720.
  • All-on-6 implant subtotal: 6 × USD 430 = USD 2,580.
  • For either example: add VND 35–70 million per arch for temporary and final teeth, plus any separately quoted procedures.

The USD 860 difference compares only the implant component in this example. Neither subtotal is a complete treatment price. USD and VND are separate currencies and have not been added together using an assumed exchange rate. Consult the current implant price list and request a consolidated quotation with inclusions and payment currency stated.

Questions to bring to your consultation

  • Why do you recommend this implant arrangement for my arch?
  • What alternatives are suitable, including retaining teeth where possible?
  • Which temporary and final restorations are included?
  • What would change the proposed cost or schedule?
  • How will cleaning, reviews and future repairs be organised?

Frequently asked questions

Is All-on-6 always better than All-on-4?

No. Ask what benefit the proposed arrangement offers in your individual plan. Implant count alone is not a measure of the quality of the finished treatment.

Can the upper and lower arches need different plans?

Your dentist should assess each arch separately. Ask for the reasons, restoration details and price of each plan rather than assuming that both arches must match.

Can I choose an option before travelling?

You can discuss preferences and preliminary costs, but ask which decisions require an examination in Hanoi. Avoid treating a remote conversation as a final clinical recommendation.

Discuss your full-arch treatment options

Email cskh.alisadental@gmail.com to enquire about a consultation with Alisa Dental. Mention whether you are asking about the upper arch, lower arch or both, where you live and any treatment plan you already have. Ask the team how to share records securely before your appointment.
